When does the Virtual Tibetan Bazaar start and finish?
The Virtual Tibetan Bazaar has two parts: The Virtual Bazaar (shopping) and the Virtual Summit (online workshops, music, and cultural presentations).
The Virtual Bazaar (Facebook Pop-Up Shopping Group) will open on Saturday, September 12, 2020, and the last day will be Sunday, September 19, 2020. All shopping must be completed by this time. The Online Bazaar is free to participate in as a shopper, and is open to the public.
The Virtual Summit is available only to ticket holders. Click here to purchase your ticket. All presentations will be available on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Kushok’s Live Zoom Talk (including Opening Ceremonies) will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10:00am MST, and the recording will also be uploaded for your viewing. You will have streaming access to all of the videos until December 31, 2020.
When will I have access to the Virtual Summit?
You will have access to the Virtual Summit on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Kushok’s Live Zoom Talk will take place at 10:00 am MST, and will be recorded and uploaded for your viewing afterwards.
How long will I have access to the videos?
You will have streaming access to all of the videos until December 31, 2020 (about 90 days).
Will I be able to download the videos?
No, you will not be able to download the videos. You will have unlimited streaming access to the videos until December 31, 2020.
What will the Virtual Summit include?
The Virtual Summit will include: Dharma talks by Kushok Lobsang Dhamchoe, our Spiritual Director, as well as visiting monks and Lamas; Tibetan cultural performances (dance and music); a Momo-Making workshop; a Tibetan Medicine workshop; and several short films.
Who will be presenting?
Our presenters include Kushok Lobsang Dhamchoe, Geshe Dawa, and Ven. Thamthog Rinpoche, as well as other professional practitioners and artists. Click here to learn more about all of our presenters.
How will I be able to view the videos?
You can stream the videos from your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the digital nature of this Summit, there will be no refunds.
Can a get a member discount?
No, as there is no discounts in the membership policy related to the Bazaar.
Can I get may fees waived if I can not afford the ticket?
Yes, If you cannot afford the cost of the ticket you may contact our office regarding waiver of fees do to financial reasons.
Can I share the links and passwords?
No. Please do not share links and passwords.
Can I access this on my phone?
Yes, any computer or phone with an internet connection will work.
Why has the cost of the Bazaar gone up since previous years?
The Bazaar experience has moved online in order to facilitate and support the GSL community. The cost has gone up this year because you are getting temporary access to high quality information from people all over the world from the comfort of your own home. Compared to the Bazaar in previous years, you could only see the talks live in person; now you get to experience them even when life gets busy.
